Make Money with Greeting Cards

Posted on September 6th, 2008 in Make Money by MoonPetal

You can make good money with greeting cards. You don’t even have to be creative or talented, but it does help. Artist like Tiffani Taylor http://www.tiffaniart.com are creating beautiful greeting cards for sale and you can too.

Last year at my fathers retirement party we were sitting and opening his gifts and cards when we noticed there were duplicates of most of the cards. He received 3 or 4 of the exact same card. It made me start to realize how generic most cards seem.

Several months later I saw te same thing at my sisters baby shower. So many of the cards (and gifts) were repeats. I now try to find unique and creative cards from local artists or create them myself.

If you are talented at drawing, painting, or graphic design creating greeting cards for money will be easy. You have to create the art in whatever medium you choose and get it into digital format. If you are a painter that will require taking a photograph of the painting or having a professional do it for you. Then load the image onto your computer, easy with a digital camera, a few more steps with a 35mm. You will need to develope the film, scan the photos or have your proceesing company put it on a CD for you. Once it’s on the computer or disk you can take it to a printer or go to an online printer.

I recommend these printers to start with…

Once you have your product now you need to sell it. You can sell it online directly yourself through avenues like ebay, your own webpage, or etchy.com. You can also take samples of your products to local shops and craft malls and inquire about them buying them.

If you aren’t talented enough to do your own art work you can hire someone to do it for you. Take out a free ad on Craigslist or backpages.com and look for artists to do it for you. Or even easier buy stock photos to use. Be careful to read all terms of the stock site before using an image.

Residual Income with Stock Photography

If you are looking to make money with your camera you should sell your photographs to stock sites. These webpages are stock sites I recommend. I have received a paycheck from all but 123, so far.
I’ve been shooting stock photography for a few years now. I’ve been getting paid regularly for the last year just for adding my extra photos from shoots to these stock photo sites. Just click enter and follow the directions to sign up (It’s free) and then add your photographs. The more photos you have on the more you’ll earn. You do not need to pay for anything. If a stock site asks you to pay for membership you’ve either accidentally signing up to buy stock instead of selling it or they are not a good stock site. Good luck!

Shutterstock: Royalty Free Photographs. I earn the most on this site. It’s also the hardest to be accepted on.
Fotolia: I earn the second most from this site. Its easy to join and submit.
BigStock: A great place to sell your photos. It’s very easy to use.
DreamsTime: This site is getting bigger and bigger. My earnings have gone up over 300%. Please use this as the referral ID: res60933
CanStock: Another good site to sell your photos and illustrations. This stock site is easy to use and well set up.
123royaltyfree: This is the only site I haven’t earned a paycheck from yet. I have sold photos here, but enough to get paid yet.
